About the TDC Study Center

The Diabetes Centre (TDC) is an affiliated and approved study center of the Health Services Academy, Islamabad (Ref. No.: 1-1/2024/DAI-HSA). The Diabetes Centre (TDC) and the Health Services Academy (HSA) have opportunities related to diabetes and its management in the following domains:

  • To initiate certificate, diploma, and degree programs related to the endocrine discipline, particularly in diabetes management and its allied health areas to provide skilled healthcare professionals and workers.
  • To develop capacity of General Practitioners (GPs) on Diabetes Management and diabetic foot ulcers that will resolve the issues related to accessibility and affordability.
  • To develop a collaborative strategy with the public health sector under a ‘private-public’ partnership to provide access to safe and effective diabetes care to the non-affording population.
  • To formulate the national-level policy and strategy for diabetes management through the involvement of private and public sectors. .
  • To establish a diabetes university at the national level within five years.
  • To shape the research and innovation through collaboration with the universities, and research organizations, and the establishment of postgraduate training and research at the TDC.
  • To deliver safe and effective care and treatment in the domain of diabetes management through the implementation of national and international healthcare certification and accreditation standards like ISO 9001, IHRA, JCIA, and ISO 21001
