Diabetes and Eye Disease Complications
Diabetes can affect the blood vessels throughout the body, and the light-sensitive tissue lining the back of our eyes. Abnormal changes in the retinal blood vessels, known as Diabetic Retinopathy (“DR”)and diabetic macular edema (”DME”), may lead to bleeding or scarring in the retina and stop light rays from reaching part of the back of the eye. This is the most often condition that occurs in patients having diabetes and eyes related issues. Most patients having these kinds of issues may result in blurred vision and lead to blindness.
The Diabetes Centre Team helps patients to manage complications through certain strategies like
- Screening & management strategy of diabetic retinopathy
- Fundoscopy
- OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
- Intravitreal Anti-VEGF injection
