The Diabetes Centre (TDC), in collaboration with the City Administration, Eighteen, National Press Club, and 'Islamabad Run with Us', organized "Become a Hero Campaign Awareness Run" on Saturday, January 15, 2022. The Awareness Run started from National Press Club terminated at E-7 Markaz, Islamabad. The run covered sectors F-6, F-7, and E-7 of Islamabad where different awareness booths were also placed with specialized doctors like Eye Specialists, Foot specialists, Nutritionists, and Diabetologist who gave awareness to the people and encouraged the residents to increase their daily physical activity.
This campaign aims to make people heroes in their own families. A hero can save diabetic patients' lives. This is why our campaign is called become a hero referral campaign, where you refer your loved ones to it. The CEO of TDC, Mr. Tahir Abbasi said that ‟Being one of the top hospitals in Pakistan specializing in diabetic care, we provide systematic care to ensure effective diagnosis, treatment, management, and education of patients with diabetes type 1 and 2, endocrine disorders, and associated risks of diabetes.” He said, "TDC also provides compassionate and value-based treatment and our mission is to be recognized as a global leader in improving the lives of people with diabetes, irrespective of their ability to pay." Along with providing comprehensive diagnostic, curative, and rehabilitative services, TDC makes every effort to spread awareness about the disease and help lower the burden of the disease through prevention.
